We've already reached the 20's (70 ºF) in the Abel Tasman and it's only mid-October! The colours are stunning and our guests are equally as stunned by the beautiful surroundings. Cottage and flora looking fab :)

Mark Saturday 26th September in your calendar! It's the Chia Abel Tasman Coastal classic, a 36km trail run from Awaroa to Marahau along the renowned Abel Tasman National Park. It's one of New Zealand's most popular trail runs along stunning coastal and native bush paths. Fraser Highlands is only 12 minutes drive from the start & finish line, so come and enjoy a relaxing stay pre and post run!

We had a winter storm recently which brought back memories of a remarkable day back in January 2013. Now that was stormy....and beautiful watching from a distance!

This rather large fellow is a New Zealand pigeon, endemic to our homeland and certainly one of the more beautiful 'pigeon' named birds roaming the planet (think European pigeons...). He loves fruit, but will hopefully stay away from our crop!

A trip to the markets?

Nelson Markets has now been operating over 30 years at Montgomery Square in the Nelson town center, and is still as popular as the 80s! If you're in the region, experience delicious seasonal and organic produce, locally grown fruit and vege, cheeses, breads, fish, meat...the list goes on. It's not just food though, as Nelson is a national icon in the arts - jewellery, wall art, pottery, craft and mosiacs.

Grab a coffee and enjoy a local morning out!

Sometimes we get mesmerized by the dawn and dusk views over Tasman Bay, so it's time to show off a few other highlights around Fraser Highlands!

"Far and away my favorite spot in New Zealand out of 24 days and 13 lodgings. We chose to stay in the cottage on the hill overlooking the main house and with a fabulous view of the Tasman Bay."
- Elaine, Georgetown, Texas, USA

"This was our first time to Abel Tasman and we struck gold with Fraser Highlands. We had the Glencross room upstairs, which had great views, a big, comfortable bed and a good sized en suite bathroom".
